Non-NaNoWriMo goals in April

The other day I blogged about Camp NaNoWriMo, and how my novel goals fared in April.  One of the reasons why I'm not too disappointed in how Camp went is because I also managed to keep up on the rest of my goals for 2014 fairly well throughout the month.  There were a few hiccups, to be sure, especially as I had some personal things going on in April, but all in all I didn't do too badly.

If you remember, my goals for 2014 were to:

  1. Finish my NaNo '13 novel,
  2. finish revising my first Ruby Ransome novel,
  3. work on my website and blogs,
  4. blog every day, and
  5. read a classic every month.

Obviously, the focus of April was the first of those goals, as my NaNo '13 novel was what I was working on in April.  I'm not finished yet, but hopefully I will be before the July session of Camp NaNoWriMo.  I intend to work on the second of those goals, finishing the revisions on Ruby Ransome, in July.

I didn't read any classics in April, but I'm all right with that because the larger focus was on Camp NaNo.  I will pick one for May, though.

I am pleased to say that I've been good about keeping up on my blogs.  I have missed days, especially when my personal life blew up about the third week of April, but on the days I do blog, I usually write more than one post to make up for it.  I've been thinking of increasing my daily output goal to two posts, even, although I don't know if I'll aim for that every day.

Additionally, I started a new blog, so I've been working on the design.  This reminded me that one of my goals for the year was to overhaul several of my existing blogs, so I might pick another one to work on once I'm done tinkering with the new blog.

All in all, not bad for a month that was entirely devoted almost solely to the first of those goals!
