Sometimes I feel like all of my writing endeavors are just too big for my life, so that every time I try to catch up on one thing, something else gets neglected. It's like one of those children's games where every time you push something back in one hole, something else pops out of another.
I'm making progress, though, being more productive. I just need to get a handle on being productive on everything and finding balance between all of my many different projects. Also, I think I generally need to expect that I will be completely unproductive on the weekends, when my schedule generally fills up very quickly.
For example, I have been looking for freelance work and marketing myself again, and as a result my blogs have been a little more neglected over the last week or so. And since I have been working on my blogs and working on marketing, I haven't worked on my fiction at all in the past two weeks. That especially has to change -- although I am excited about freelancing again, I don't want to neglect my own projects this time, the way I did when I was freelancing before.
And of course, I want to be able to balance all of my writing endeavors with my need to ride and spend time with my horses. I feel at the moment like my life is one of those pill boxes with a bunch of separate compartments, and I need to be sure to put equal amounts of time into each compartment.
What about you? How do you achieve balance in your life -- between different writing projects, but also between writing and other things that are high on your list of priorities?
