The tech came today to set up my Internet, so I am finally online from my new place. Hooray! It's such a relief to be able to get online and work from my own home. It's amazing how much you take that for granted sometimes.
Surprisingly, though, the five days without wifi went quickly. Lots of factors helped to make that easier than I thought it would be: my iPhone, the many opportunities I had to get wifi while I was without at home, the fact that it was over the weekend, and my deadlines not being until mid-week.
So I'm one huge step closer to being settled in at the new place. I still have some unpacking to do, and a few more things to bring over from the old place. For the most part, though, I'm moved -- and I've put away enough stuff that I can walk around comfortably without tripping over boxes. And since I'm off from my nanny job this week and next, I should have plenty of time to finish unpacking and settle in.
I'm also hoping to spend a lot of time on freelance and writing work this week and next. Even if it's only for a week and a half, I'd like to get into a good rhythm of working. Tomorrow will be a traditional day off -- I'm thinking maybe a day at the barn and a movie in the evening -- but after that, I'm hoping to have a fairly productive couple days to finish off my week.
A fresh beginning is a great way to really launch my summer, and I'm looking forward to the rest of it!
