NaNoWriMo 2014: Making progress

After several days of not working much on my NaNoWriMo project, I finally made some progress.  I wrote a little over a thousand words on Tuesday, and another thousand or so yesterday.  My progress both days occurred largely at and after write-ins, of course.

Tonight is another write-in, and the one I organize.  It's not the most productive one, though.  It's a really social event where I'm unlikely to get a whole lot done.  Perhaps I'll be pleasantly surprised, though.

One of my NaNo friends suggested that I ought to be multiplying all my words by a factor of 5, simply because nonfiction is so much harder to write -- and involves so much more preparation and research -- than a novel.  I'm not sure right now that I quite agree, but I'm certainly considering counting the time I'm spending on research, outlining, and preparation.

Regardless, I'm pretty pleased with my progress the last few days.  I've now finished writing one of the smaller sections of the project, and tonight I'm hoping to make good progress on the next one!
