I never blogged last week with an update on how work on my goals was going, which was largely because it wasn't. I spent a lot of the week of March 18th reading, both old vampire literature (research for an important scene in my novel) and the March selection for the sci-fi/fantasy book club I belong to. I didn't ride much, and didn't get much of anything else done, either.
Last week turned out to be a crazy busy week. The family I nanny for was on vacation, so it should have been time to work on my novels and freelance work... except that Michael took Monday off to spend the day with me, I accepted all-day babysitting for Tuesday and Wednesday (10-hour days that left me too exhausted to do much else afterward), I had a lesson Thursday morning and spent the rest of the day at the barn, and Friday I had a doctor's appointment in the morning and was leaving for a weekend conference in the afternoon.
The weekend conference was a local steampunk, sci-fi, and fantasy conference called Anomaly Con. I actually stayed in the hotel and spent the weekend attending writers panels, workshops, and other useful things. I knew it was going to be fun, and I knew they would have some presentations and panels for writers, but I didn't expect there to be so much of it. It was probably one of the most useful things I've done for my career in a long time... More on that later!
So although I didn't get a lot done the last couple of weeks (at least not much progress on my goals), I did have a very busy, fun, and productive weekend, one that is launching me into the new week (and the new month) with a renewed burst of motivation, dedication, and ideas!
