It just figures that immediately following two of the most productive weeks I've had all year, this last week would be my least productive. At least, I think it's probably about the least productive. It was my first week of my summer schedule, and it was a reminder of how much busier I am when the kids are out of school, and my hours double.
1. Novels: I didn't work on my novel at all this past week. Well, technically I revised a few paragraphs Monday and a few more on Tuesday, but that's really not much to speak of. I am writing this post Sunday evening, as I expect a busy day tomorrow, so I might get a little bit more done this evening -- but I don't think it will be very much. Unfortunately July is fast approaching, and with it the second session of Camp NaNoWriMo, and I am not nearly as far as I intended to be by this time.
2. Blogs and websites: No progress.
3. Other writing projects: No progress.
4. Books: After I got done with my book club's selection, I wasn't quite in the mood to go back to the tedium of Les Miz, so I read a short YA novel and then started reading a book about the 1920s. I am letting myself slide on this since it technically counts as research for my novels...
5. Horses: Panama saw a lot of action this week -- V. (the girl I nanny for) had lessons Tuesday and Thursday and a practice ride on Friday, and I rode him (bareback -- it was something of a "horse therapy" ride for me, since I'd had a crazy day) Wednesday evening. Rondo was only ridden on Friday, when V. and I rode together. I didn't ride at all over the weekend, since the horses had a big change on Saturday: Rondo moved into Panama's corral, up at the very front of the barn. I am happy because I have wanted them together from day one, primarily for my convenience but also because I'd like them to know they are "brothers" now.
This coming week should be a more productive week in theory, since I actually have the week off from my nanny job (and no other work, either, other than my novel). We did set aside a few days for a vacation, though, and the rest of the days have already been filling up alarmingly fast. In other words, I suspect this week may not end up being so productive, after all. I have another week off in July -- during Camp NaNo, as luck would have it -- and I am setting that one aside for working on my novel!
